COVID-19 Pneumonia

Bilateral interstitial pneumonia due to COVID-19 infection tested + for COVID-19 on day 1

Clinical information

82 yrs old female, overweight and hypertensive, PM for SSS. The patient presented to our Emergency Department with a chief complaint of fever, cough and dyspnea. No clinical response on CPAP. The patient passed away on day 6 from admission.

Brief description

Analyzing the images we can see all the main features of interstitial pneumonia.
1. B lines: the B lines are well represented, clustered but not confluent, with some spared areas. B lines are distributed randomly. Most B lines originate from small subpleural consolidations.
2. Pleural line: the pleural line is thickened and shredded.
3. Subpleural consolidations: very often present in COVID-19 patients, usually.
