The patient presented to the our Emergency Department with a chief complaint of fever, cough and dyspnea. Tested positive for COVID-19 on day 3 from admission due to lack of swabs.
Analyzing the images we can see all the main features of interstitial pneumonia:
1. B lines: the B lines are well represented but are not confluent in a “white lung” appearance but rather clustered with some spared areas. B lines are distributed randomly.
2. Pleural line: the pleural line is thickened and shredded.
3. Posterior consolidations: some patients present with significant posterior consolidation, usually if late presentation to the ED as seen on clip 1.
Bilateral interstitial pneumonia with posterior consolidation due to COVID-19 infection.
