Tubulovillous adenoma

Clinical information

Male, 60 years old. Abdominal ultrasound requested by general practitioner due to abnormal liver enzymes, known alcohol abuse. Cirrhosis? Portal hypertension?

Brief description

During scanning of the gastrointestinal tract, incidentally, a hypoechoic, wall-standing lesion is visible in the transverse colon. Suspected to be a polypoid mass. The patient has been referred to the gastroenterologist for a colonoscopy and biopsy. The biopsy reveals it to be a tubulovillous adenoma.
