A 73 year old Male referred to PT with history of L3/L4 fusion with R SI joint pain and tingling and numbness in r lateral thigh.

Brief description

Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound was performed with entrapment of lateral femoral cutaneous nerve seen with reproduction of symptoms with sonopalpation.

Conclusion

Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound is a valuable tool to assess nerves and in this case was able to visualize the patient's lateral femoral cutaneous nerve of the thigh and with sono-palpation able to reproduce the patient's symptoms.
