44-year-old woman with a painless swelling in the right submandibular region for two years.

Brief description

Dynamic ultrasound during swallowing shows a displacement, herniation, of the sublingual gland from the sublingual space into the submandibular space caused by a benign anatomical discontinuity, boutonniére defect, in the mylohyoid muscle.
