Incidental finding of a scapular nodule

Clinical information

42-year-old female patient who came from the rehabilitation clinic to our office because of an incidental finding of a scapular nodule. Known oncologic history of breast cancer. Currently shows pulmonary nodules too.

Brief description

The ultrasound showed a rounded nodule, with irregular contour, hypoechogenic, with irregular margins and infiltrative appearance, heterogeneous, with dimensions: 1.47 x 1.63 x 2.15cm (AP x T x L), without color Doppler enhancement and no other artifacts.
We decided to perform FNA and CNB with 4 cores and ancillary testing.

Conclusion

The morphology and immunophenotype show features suggestive of a breast origin of the lesion.
Final diagnosis: Soft tissue metastasis of breast carcinoma.
